99 S80 trans wont shift into 4th gear (can I just replace the trans?) S80 1999

I have a 99 S80 "non turbo" that wont shift into 4th gear.
The OBD II code is P0751 "shift solenoid A stuck off" I cant find a table
that will cross this over to the Volvo Codes.
My question is; Can I replace the trans with out a software download?
I am sure the problem is just a bad solenoid, but I rather put a Volvo exchange trans in and send the car on its way. (fluid is very burnt)
I am sure it is not related to a computer or a software problem.
I have changed lots of 850 Volvo transmissions and never tuched a computer.

Don't need a download but you will need to reset the fluid counter and ECM adaptive settings via VADIS. Replaceing an S-80 trans is another world, especially turbo's. There's a boatload more stuff that has to come off, and the rear motor mount is interesting to say the least. Unfortunately, getting to the solenoids is just about the same labor as removing the trans.
