Has anyone tried water injection on turbo engine? Any difference? 850 1995

I have a 850T and have heard about water injection systems. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and if so, what brand and was it successful.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ed

Read this guys page on water injection for turbo diesel trucks. He could probably help you with your application too. Lots of benefits claimed over an intercooler alone. Works at all speeds, cools your incoming air, results in cooler exhaust gas temps (keeps turbo cooler), and possibly longer engine/turbo life. But you gotta keep that bottle filled up.

Good luck!

Someone on this board did this a couple years ago (2 or 3). He noticed no increase in performance whatsoever. He did however find HUGE gains in mileage. He was easily seeing around a 30% decrease in fuel consumption. He bought it for performance enhancement, but ended up with fuel economy instead.

Unless your engine is very highly modified, it won't do much of anything.

The water injection helps cools the air leaving the intercooler before it enters the engine. Even if you are very highly modified, the stock intercooler will do just fine. The intake side is good for way more power than the engine can ever make.

Unless you know what you are doing, stick to the standard engine mods. K&N air filter, new exhaust, IPD's ECU, rerouting the intercooler lines, big bore throttle body.
