S40 2.0T Gearbox oil S40-V40

I have a 99 2.0T and its coming up to 70k, does anyone know what milages
the gearbox oil should have been changed at, mines been dealer serviced
up to now, and the gearshift is feeling like it might benefit from an
oil swap, has anyone doen this model before? what grade should be used?.

    Automatic or manual?

Manuals don't get an oil change and don't need one either. If you still want to do it then get the right oil from the Volvo dealer as the M56 manual uses a specific synthetic oil type for this transmission. I have seen leaking gearbox axle seals when people put in different types of oil.

For an automatic the specification should be in your owners manual. Pretty normal stuff that should be available at most parts stores.

    Bye, Arno.

      Arno,

Thanks, its a manual, I just noticed the gearshift seemes a bit less easy
than in the past, apparently the oil is ???5 ATP5 maybe I think thats a
oil "rating" a bit like DOT3,4,5 is for hydraulic fluid. So does the
gearbox oil never have to be changed on manual S40s? sounds so from what
you say. Anyway thanks for the answers..
