Tried mast replacement,cant yank old one out,seems to be stuck at the neck of the aluminium tube(underneath the top of fender nut).
Anyone tried af ones?

i see masts on ebay all the time for less than $20.
check it out.
personally, i would take the assembly out and clean it. you would believe all the stuff that could accumulate inside the compartment where the plastic thingy winds and unwinds. open it up, give it a healthy dose of carb cleaner or omething like that, then some wd40 before you seal it up.

The mast is only about $40 and to remove the old one, usually all you'll need to do is tap it upwards using a pliers and hammer (might need a bit more force but it'll come out).
