Reading Light Problem V70-XC70

I discovered the oddest thing. The reading light in the rear passenger side does not work in the "door open" position of the switch, only when you flip the switch to "on". Any idea why this might happen?

    Most common problem is a faulty switch on the lamp. The switch is not serviced, therefor you must replace lamp or attempt to take apart and repair switch.
