Automatic Gearshift Problem 850

Oy!
Just when I think I’m solving the problems on my car…..now this. My automatic gear shift will not shift out of park (the large button on underside of the gear shift cannot be depressed), unless I push the “Shiftlock Override” button. I’m thinking it has something to do with the brake pedal not doing what it’s supposed to do. Can someone help me to look for what the problem can be? Thanks!!! Joe

KP,
The "Shift Override" button is just forward and to the right of the gear shifter on my '96.

Its the shift microshift more then likely. Could be the pedal switch but not any where near as common as the microswitch.
