Transmission line clip? V70-XC70 1998

I want to do the "flush" on my 98 V70 AWD R wagon by removing the upper hose on the radiator and running out 2 quarts, putting 2 in etc. How does that darn "clip" work on the hose fitting to the radiator? Is it just a cover and then there is a nut underneath? Need some help as I don't want to screw up the fitting.

I used a 1/2" i.d. tube-three feet in length, drain into a five gallon bucket w/lid.

It is just an aluminum clip that clips onto the hose and the cooler housing. The clip has to be spread apart and it should slide down just enough onto the hose to be able to pull the hose straight out. Make certain that you have a rag under the connection because some tranny fluid will spill out.
Use a clear hose so that you can see the bubbles during the flush. I did this as a one-man operation and draped the hose over the driver's side fender so that I could see the bubbles and know when to shut off the engine from the driver's seat.
This was very easy to do. Removing the clip was the difficult part of the job.

Butchman--so this must be a "spring" clip (Or as I call them a "BA%^&#D" Clip).
Once I spread it where there is an opening, the hose simply will pull back, then just "snap" the hose back into place? I guess there is not much pressure for it to need a nice tappered line/nut fitting. Also, What ID size hose should I buy????

Have a replacement on hand as the clips break easily. You may also want to replace the o-rings to prevent leaking. I believe I used 1/2 inch clear tubing from Home Depot- around three feet of it.
