door trim 850 1994

Has anybody else out there had trouble with the door trim snagging when you open the door? My 850 has the annoying, (not to mention expensive), habit of bending the trim strip on the passenger side doors. Both front and rear. It seems that the front door fits so close to the fender in the front, that sometimes something happens just right to be wrong, and wen the door is opened, the trim catches and it's a trip to the friendly local Volvo dealer for a new trim strip. This is the third time. Any ideas? Thanks.

    door trim 850 1994

Our 95 855 has this problem on passenger rear door. I fixed it this
    weekend by:

    Open front door.

Grab rear door trim trim and slide it towrds the front of the car
(about an inch) then pull it out.

It should come out with the white fastners that hold it in. If some
of the fasteners stay in the door, slide them out and then snap them
back in the guide on the back of the trim (I set the top edge of
the fastner in the groove and used pliers to snap the bottom edge in).
The rear most fastner seems to be a guide that stays in the door.

The trim is rubber covered metal. I then carefully bent the metal a
bit so the front edge points back down to the surface of the door.
Techniclaly, this is called a "tweak" :) Hopefully, it wont snag
anymore. Only make slight changes since you don't want to put a
"crimp" in the trim. You then slide it back into place to install.

    hi Jones,

i had this same problem and mine eventually bend the front wing when opening the door one day. I had to have the wing replaced to fix it had some decided to also reverse into it!

Anyway two things are your door dropping i know you guys seem to have problems with the door mounting welds are any of these giving way, so letting the door droop ? As the trim is easy to pop off just relocate a far rear of its locations holes as possible, this has worked for me.
