Do sparkplugs make a big diff in performance?

Will the certain typos of plugs give the car a different feel from others? or is it either they work or don't?

I figure if plugs make a difference, Volvo engineers would figure it
out and use them (maybe they do). They put it a lof of effort to
squeeze out more power from the engine (example: going to variable
valve timing in newer models and independent coils for each
plug -- not cheap). It is a pretty good bet they have looked at plugs
and already optimized it (assuming there is anything to optimize).

Yes, use NGK glow plugs, it's the best and cheap too.

    Costas,
Performance meaning more horspower/torque? No. Providing they are not fowled and are gapped properly, they allow the engine to run more efficiently resulting in better gas mileage and lower emissions. Manufacturers selling the idea of better perfromance is simply marketing hype. IMO
