Checking T-belt and Found 1st Leak 850 1994

I pulled the cover to check condition of the belt again (i'm assuming its very recent since there is no wear or cracking and a shiny new water pump in there too)

Anyways I noticed wet black sludge inside the cover towards the firewall. It seems to be pooling where the front cover tab inserts into the back cover. I also noticed that it's using that tab hole as a drain and there is some oil on the CV boot. Any ideas as to what it could be? I didn't really see anything above the water pump but will look again. Also no... no oil got on the T-belt.

Maybe this is where all my oil was going when I posted before about getting 1,000 to a quart. The good thing is that it hasn't used any oil since then and it's finally starting to keep clean longer.

if the car run good it can have small leak and not a problem... 1000 miles a quartes is not bad...

clean it up and keep it going... I won't replace anything unless it get worst ... if you doing it yourself than not a problem... if take to dealer than it became a big deal.$$$$$$$$$$$

all car have leak... mine do ...

I think it's getting worse... I can now smell it burning on the exhaust. I'll try to get under it soon and track it down. I'm a pretty competant mechanic and do all my own repairs both big and small.

I'm thinking its either a cam seal or the top cover gasket. I want to take care of it before I have a fire total.
