Motor fan runs too often. C70

My sister has a '00 C70 LPT. The fan behind the radiator seems to run for five minutes or longer after the motor has been shut off. This happens after a short drive or a long drive. I have checked the radiator fluid and it is at the correct levels. I drive a '98 C70 HPT, and my fan only comes on after a hard, hot drive or when sitting in traffic. Is there something wrong with her fan or thermostat?

    happens on my '00 too. I was worried at first but used to it now. I did turn the waste gate 4 times and thought that might have made the engine run hotter- you been foolin with your sister's wastegate?

    Although the cars are visually the same, the engine mgmt systems are very different. The 00 has Motronic 7.0, the 98 and Motronic 4.4

    The later models do tend to run the fan more often. As long as the fan turns off (sooner or later) I wouldn't worry about it.

      Ya, its not going to kill your battery. Actually, most cars do this, everything from my old grand-am (99) both my dodges, my S60, my gf's 850 and her parents C70 (haha, back to the point).

      It's cool, I wouldn't worry about it. It's actually doing a service for you.
