changing the front wheel bearing 850 1997

I'm trying to change the front wheel bearing and can't get the castle nut off. This car (850R) doesn't have the cotter pin. I used the 36 mm socket to loosen the castle nut, but it wouldn't loosen. Is there a special tool or way to take it off?

    stupid question.... 850 1997

The nut has a place that should be dented into a grove (usually done with a punch). This is done instead of cotter pins for the most part now. It takes some work but bending it back makes it a lot easier to remove.

    Hello,
I just did this same job about a month ago.
My Castle nut was tight, but with the appropriate
socket and breaker bar, she broke loose.
Are you sure you are trying to loosen it the right
way ? I think it may go opposite of what you think.
    I'll double check....

    Ryan
