hey guys, mileage is a problem or heavy foot? Make sure that lead foot of you all who state you have don't get you into the stinkin citation system, hate it and will always. Anyways back to mileage, i have a 93 5 speed! has a missing fuel tank vapor control tank which runs through the egr system and also the fumes dogo through to the inlet valves for better combustion, well on my 18 gallons of california gallons i traveled from Hollywood california to Scottsdale arizona, which is about 437 miles one way and i only had to fill up about 60 miles on my way back! hows that!, i thought the fume control tank would rather make my engine drink, but i compensated for a little higher pressure in my tires, which i still have my original 6 spoke 15" alum wheels, and it paid off! Hey just as i heard before that the 5cylinder engines were designed by prosche, well the only problem it might ever have is oil burning, HEAVY FOOT WILL CAUSE THE PISTON RINGS TO FRY LIKE YOUR BRAINCELLS ON THC. CAre for you car, don't push it to the limit. Would you feel good if your car pushed to the limit on its cost of operation??? I don't think so. Care for it.

I always fill the tank and drive till it's almost empty. Each time I fill, I reset the odometer and do 400 miles, by which time it's close to empty.(the orange light has come on) This driving is done on poor Irish roads (we don't have freeways lol) As the Imperial gallon has 20 fluid ounces as opposed to the US gallon which has only 16 fluid ounces, there is no point in talking miles per gallon, just miles per tankfull.

I have a 1997 850R and I'm getting 20. I just put in new plugs. I was getting 22mpg after my last tune up with plugs, cap& rotor

Trip computer says, maybe 400-450, this is on a 100 mile highway commute with 3 tollbooths usually completed in less than 90 minutes.

the trip computer says 430 miles, on clean slate. that's never happened...i've gotten like 400 miles, but that's like on i5 and highway constant speed. most of the time, i get like 300-350...although let's see. had to commute from sf to sunnyvale for a year...on full tank of gas, 43.2 miles one way...i think i've lasted 388 miles...stretching it out. that's with 17" tires, ipd ecu, sport exhaust, sport mode, and heavy foot.
