Recommended interval for changing timing belt V70-XC70 1999

Just bought a gorgeous V70 with 31,000 miles. A very different car from our previous 245's and 760T. One thing I'm really confused about is when to change the timing belt - the owner's manual recommends 105,000 miles! Is this correct?!

Thanks for any info -
E. Vegvary

I just bought one a month ago and the interval is 105K miles. The 740 is 50K, the 965 is 70K and the V70 is 105K. I think I'll change it earlier, like 50K. Mine's a GLT, light pressure turbo, soon to be a higher pressure turbo.

Some time during the model year 98 run Volvo switched to a
mechanical camshaft belt tensioner and I think that one has a longer
service life then the older ones using a hydraulic tensioner.
    Previously, it was 70K / ~5 years.

Don't know about that model, but the 850 is 70 K miles, according to the prinout I have from the dealer. Your dealer can give you one of those for your car.
