Is this car equipped with any emission hardware that would impeed its performance in southern Indiana.

Actually there is one difference in the Volvos sold in CA, and it has nothing to do with the performance.
They are a lot more expensive around here compared to other states.

Hi,

The answer is NO. A California Volvo is no different then anyother Volvo sold in the US of A. Volvo sells the same car in all 50 states.

This is true now of all Car Manufactures today.

I believe Volvos are 50 state models. California does require the manufacturer
to warranty emmision components for 7 years / 70K miles (model year 98); so, any repairs were probably kept up with.
