Might buy '99 S70 T5 - what to look for? S70

I'm going to look at a '99 manual S70 T5 sedan tonight - are there any common areas of concern to look for? It has 31k miles, according to the dealer. I'm considering this car to replace my modified Integra, because I'm terrified of the Integra getting stolen :(

If I get it, ECU upgrade, filter and exhaust will quickly be installed. What other mods are available? How much power can be made with a relatively-stock engine (ie internals), and how much can the driveline take before I start breaking things?

What sort of suspension upgrades are there? I'm looking to use this car for on-track driving schools, as well as around-town fun...

Thanks!

If you get a T5 call engstrom motorsports in chicago and order the stage 3 kit which includes: ECU Reprogram, K&N type cone filter, Sport exhaust and 3" mandrel bent downpipe & High-Flow cat-conv. The kit will take you to 300-330Hp and get ya 13.80's in the 1/4mi. The weak IPD set up wont get even close. IF you want more power after that call easternaerospace, these boys can get ya all the way up to 600hp. Keep me posted enfrank@iupui.edu

Hi Pat,
That sounds like a great car. I have a 1998 V70 T5 with a 5 speed manual with 123000 miles and have never had any problems (knock on wood!). I do the oil, tires, and all filters regularly and keep in clean.

Check out IPD (http://www.ipdusa.com) for mods. I know that they have a T5 mod that puts out much more horsepower. You should also think about replacing the engine stabilizer bushing with a polyurethane one.

My T5 is very fun to drive. As the mileage reflects, I do lots of driving and love the car.
Good Luck!
-Noah
