CD Changer Pre-Wiring ?? V70-XC70

Greetings all,
I have a 1998 XC - the window sticker says that it is pre-wired for a CD changer. When I was working in the left rear cargo area on unrelated business I didn't see any evidence of a connector. Anybody know exactly where it is ?
Cheers,
TB

I have a 1998 V70 T5 with the single cd player radio. Mine was pre wired for a cd changer. The wire for the cd changer is in the back of the car, under the panel towards the driver's side rear side portion of the cargo area. You have to pull up on it hard, it's held in with a friction fit set of pins and clasps. The wire is wrapped in foam rubber to protect it. It's plug and play if you get an oem unit, or with an adapter sold by peripheral and others, some Alpine units are pretty simple installs. I installed an alpine in mine.

I had my dealer install a CD changer in my '95 850 wagon as part of the deal when I purchased the car. They put it in the glove box. I had to pull the glove box to find a short, and the cable was wrapped in foam rubber, perhaps that's how they protect prewiring.

I've seen posts that indicate that a CD changer can be put under a front seat also

I own a 1998 V70 T5. The changer installs in the glove box and most Volvos are prewired. Good Luck!
