Tips for pipe flange bushing press for upper torque arm? 850 1996

Anybody got any tips for pressing the OEM bushing in for the upper torque arm on a 96 850? I'm using the pipe flange technique posted here previously (see link below), but the bushing keeps popping out of alignment and I can't get it started. I've wet it down w/ soapy water to help lubricate, but still no luck. Anybody been able to use this homemade press? Don't bother suggesting the IPD bushing- been there, done that- too much vibration.

if you still have the old bushing, whith the same interior diameter hole, try shaving/turning the exterior down to slip-fit, then using a rod that just fits the interior diameter: 1. put the old bushing in. 2. install the rod in the old bushing. 3. add the new bushing to the end of the rod, and press in with the old bushing and the rod acting as a guide for the new bushing. You'll obviously need room for the old bushing and rod to fall out of the way when the new one is started.
Rots of ruck.
