Strutbrace and Tire Questions

My car is a 1998 V70 T5 with a 5 speed manual.

I am looking for tires. Probably will be getting Michelin 205 55 R16's. That is what I have on there now. Any suggestions?

Also, I am considering a strut brace (TME from IPD) anyopne have one? What do you think of it? Any suggestions here would be welcome as well!

Thanks!
Noah

Strutbrace and Tire Questions S70 1998

I have a '98 s70T5m last nov I put 4 Mich. pilot XGTZ-4 205-55R-16 and I love them though I am not sure they still make them in that size. They are expensive $170 each at Cosco, quiet, expensive, smooth riding, expensive, stick real well on dry, wet and slush (have not seen ice thus year) oh did I mention they are expensive and I do notice they rub when taking tight turns. Only have about 5k on them so I dont know about longevety (the tyre guy I bought them from said 30-40K) which I guess makes the cost more palatable. All cheepness aside, I'd get them again, they were rock solid at speed, 70+ in a snow storm and things never got squirley. Also I have read good things about the new mich Pilot M&S.

As far as the strut brace, I bought the volvo one, it was the cheepest and from the posts seemed to fit the best (I have read that the OMP one needs some mod's to install and it's some "look at me color"). The volvo brace is light and easy to install, 5 min. I noticed a big difference, the car just seemed more solid and the ride actually seems better, like the front struts are absorbing more of the bumps.

I hope this helps.

P.S. another mod. I recommend is to get the volvo leather shift knob, it just feels better then the plastic one.

Rob '98 T5M, IPD M.Mount, Volvo brace.

Strutbrace and Tire Questions 850 1995

if u get michelins, don't get the 95 oem pilot hx mxm. not sure if those are what u have, but these are expensive and don't provide the grip at the price. heck, the pilot sports are only a $7 more each.

as for strut brace, any should be fine. differences between brands is difficult to detect unless professional driver or on track...pick one that is within ur price and looks pleasing to u.
