procedure for rotor replacement S40-V40

hello guys,

I have heard so much about people changing their own brakes and i just wanted to know if there was procedure out there that can tell me how to do it. I am sure i can do it and just want somebody that has done it to let me know and all the other readers what are the tricks ot his model. Or at least can somebody tell me if there is a chilton's manual i can get for the v40?

Jorge

hi Jorge

It is possible to chance your brakes but for only your rear brakes you have need a special tool. I'm sure that you can buy that in your country. The special tool is for replace the brakepiston of the rearbrakes.

Hi,

Thanks, but i thought that there was a trick changing the rear brakes where you had to use the handbrake somehow to pull the compressing piston back. That's what i wanted to know how to do.

hi jorge,

I work for 3 years by a VOLVO DEALER in holland.
I have never heard of your trick.
I have once heard about a kind of your trick. The man is very good mechanic
and he sad it is possible but he cut the piston seal. He sad and I also use a speciaal tool you can not cut the seal and it is also better to do.
When you demage the seal you must change your rear brakes and that is expensive.
