reverse bulbs don't work 850 1995

my reverse lights do not light up--I changed the bulbs, made sure they were in properly--nothing. I used to get the indicator (on dash) light flicker when brakes applied and bulbs worked then--then one day noticed that I didn't get the flicker anymore & thought this is good until I was told that when backing up there were no lights on, so I changed the bulbs and still nothing.
any ideas would be appreciated.

ps-thanks for all the help with the seat warmer issue & also the turbo needle.

Reverse bulbs are not conected to the bulb warning system. There are basically 2 posibilities. Blown fuse or bad switch. If auto trans, have someone watch the lights while you move the shifter slowly between P & N. If the lights flicker, bad PNP switch. If manual trans, probable reverse light switch. It sits on top of the trans case just below the air box. 2 wires, 22mm deep socket to remove.
