94 fog lights???? 850 1994

Volvo had a special in Canada on fog lights for my 855 turbo. I ordred them and they arived this week. When I opened the box I was surprized to see they are about 2"x5" not round. I need to wait for the snow to go befor I can inspect the back side of the front valance for the "cut outs" I can't imagine they will fit beside the little grills. My front valance has the two small grills and the large middle. Did I get the right ones? There are no real pictures in the instructions (only a diagram from the side) of the finished look. Am I reading it wrong, do they go in the grills? Has any one put them on? Does anyone have a picture of the finished product? Even a front shot off a web page? Thanks geoff

    i am interested in getting fogs for my 94 855. do they fit in the hole nicely and how much is volvo canada selling them for? Also, I think the 93 had a more squarish front end but the rest of the 850 line had the same shape, atleast that's what the ipd catalog states when you are trying to get replacement headlights. ken

      Hi Kanada,

      If you already have the holes that great, if you don't you need to drill them out from underneath the car and be careful there are marks there.

      Next all you need to do then is screw on the holding plate to the front chassis cross member and then the fogs bolt onto the plates.

      The cableing is easy to join up and there is a drop point by the earthing cable by the battery.

      Next you run from underneath the dash trim, the fuse and relay and the cableing to the switch on the dash.

      Thats it if i remember correctly when i did it last.

    Early 850's, the 93's and early 94's had rectangular fog lights. The late 94's till 97's had round foglights. Have you ever noticed that some older 850's look more squarish? Well those are the older ones.

      Hi guys,

      Yes what SIN says is correct.

      Also there was a design change in the foglight kit. I originally didn't have fogs and made the bad mistake and have the dealer put in my first set. They didn't cut the holes out very well. Next the reflectors melted, they were made of plastic !

      SO a year or two later i brought yet another set, but them in myself and these the reflector is a ceramic much better and no trouble. I now have a T5R bumper/fender and they look great in them.
