Advice on paint conditioing, please S70

When I bought my S70 (slightly used) it had been pummelled by a Canadian winter. There was quite a lot of micro-pitting, and the area around the grill has faded from deep black to a hazy dark gray. It's been through the last two winters in my care with a ton of wax and a nose mask, and there's been no further deterioration. Still, I'd like to restore it. Anything short of repainting the hood going to work? (You can't tell from five feet away, but up close it's a bit bothersome.) Thanks.

If you can feel the pits or scratches with your fingernail, nothing short of paint will fix it. Maybe you could touch it up, but if there's a lot of it, let a pro do it.
