help!! theres a ghost under my hood 850 1996

for about 6 months now my 96 854T has been making a strange noise after starting it cold. The best way i can describe the noise is like a ghost under my hood, it fades in and out for a few minutes until the engine is warm. I was wondering if any one has experienced this also, could it be my power steering?... since it sounds like it is coming from that area.

    I have owned many cars that made noise from their alternators for a short time after starting. As a matter of fact, I thought almost all alternators made noise under the heavy load after the starter was operated.

    One way to isolate a noise is to hold one end of a short hose (3 0r 4 feet long) up to your ear and aim the other end at potential sources of noise.

    This could be what I brought up a few days ago, a weird whistling/ghostly moaning noise. Apparently it is a phenomena that happens to many 850s, check out this thread, and the replies:
