Turbo boost S60 2002

I'm a new Volvo owner having just acquired a 2002 S60 AWD, seems sluggish on acceleration, Has anyone had the boost pressure of their turbo increased and can this be done. any other thoughts on getting a bit more accel would be appreciated.

I've had mine set up on the 760 I had, and on the 850 I have. Went to about 7 lbs of boost. If it gets set too high, the injectors won't work anyway. However, once again I live in Denver, (mile high, 20% less air), so I'm not sure what effect this will have at lower elevations. I have taken my car to sea level and not experienced any problems. Mechanic says it will not hurt.. Also you may want to look at the curve for the TC. They ain't linear.....

The program in the ECU may have something to do with this. I know my 1998 S70T5 is boost-limited up to 20mph (still plenty fast, and prevents chewing up tires I guess).

There is no way of increasing boost other than the ECU. Many vendors say they have a chip, I would research carefully since I believe the '02 has a revised program from the '01

Do a search on this site, swedespeed.com, turbobricks and volvospy.

    Cheers

    Steve

I have an S60 AWD and haven't noticed that its sluggish but I guess it could depend on what you used to drive. But, to answer your question a reflash of your ECU with a new exhaust would drive the horsepower to around 240hp or so.
