My 94 854 (sunroof, non turbo) just experienced a power antenna failure.
Symptoms: will not hold itself in the up position. wants to be about 6" up. Not easily pushed back into the closed position. I can hear motor running normally when radio power is toggled.

"allvolvooemparts" has a new assembly for $153. I also have looked at http://volvospeed.com/Repair/antmast.htm, and could not tell if this was a fix for my situation.

Any new information out there to either fix mine, or find an inexpensive replacement?

    It sounds like the antenna cable is broken. It's pretty easy to replace for about $20. Be sure to remove the broken piece that's stuck inside the motor. You need to take the motor out and remove the small black nut in the center of the cover. Carefully open the cover partially and fish out the broken plastic cable.
