Only problem now is rear main seal leak and driver seat heater. Any body that can beat that ? The car is very nice to drive still. I think it will last
300 000 kilometer more. 850 000 kilometer is ?? = 531 250 miles.

I just bought a 1994 855 Loaded with EVERYTHING but a turbo and trip computer, and it's a stick!! So far she's only got 195,000 miles on her... just broken in and runs/drives like new. All her toys still work even the A/C. Although the drivers seat heater is weak... but the other three are still strong. Only thing to fix is a ticky lifter issue that's annoying more than anything (to be done this week or next) I plan on driving this car till it falls apart.. nice to know that she'll still be together well beyond 500k.

Mr-T, this proves my point that only in the US are people preoccupied with too high miles on a car. Most people assume that a high milage car is "bad" and low milage "good". I like to ASSUME something must be wrong with a car if it has too low miles(ie. major accident, constantly in repair shop etc). So, my 97854T5 w/ 130K miles looks, drives, handles better and have less problems than my cousin's '00 Altima SE w/ 25K miles. Beats me!! Granted I take better care of my car than the average owner, but I always get flacked for having 130k miles on a ~5yr old car. Hey, I bought it w/ 113K! Compared to Mr T car, my car is just getting out of diapers(he,he,he,he)!
did u ever change the engine or tranny on your Brick, sir??? at my local dealer last week, a chap came in for some parts and his 760T, had 975K miles on original engine & tranny. He said only major service he did was t-belts and tranny flush when required. He even said my T5 turbo couldn't hang with his! I don't know about that, but he sure loves his car. good luck, BD

I bought it some moths ago. So i don’t know if the tranny or engine is std. It haze been a TAXI. But i think the tranny is the same. I have repaired many auto trannys and Volvo’s trannys beats Mercedes and GM. I don’t know why but the most common tranny i repaired is Mercedes and GM TH 700. Oil and filter change every second gear in the tranny is like ice-cream for children. The car had some smaller problems when i bought it. Had to flush the heater, Rear viper was stuck, (rost off) and it was like new. Belt tensioner and wheels had to be changed. Driver side door hinge was In poor condition. Turned new pin in a lathe. I haw spent some 10 hrs and the car is like new. The engine works nice. I tried to figure out how to know if it is the same engine as when it left the factory but i don’t know how to do that. Any body that can help ? When i bought the car it had 260 000 kilometer on the meter reading, But i made a telephone call to the Swedish car inspection, (they save all data from the car tree years back) and you can guess if i was shocked when he realized what i heard HE HE HE. The inspector asks me if i really want to know……Yes…Then he asks ones more do you really want to know….Yepp…..Ha ha ha. 830 000 kilometer last summer….My opinion is that the years wear more than mileage. And if you take care of your car it wont let you down.

I live in the north of Sweden. So my 855 had to try out –35 Celsius and guess what….It started whiteout engine heater. Now everybody believe I’m talking bullshit but you shall know that I’m a BMW lover. Had to change to 855 from BMW 525 TDS because my dog. “ Irish Wolf-Dog”

You should be able to contact Volvo or your local dealership and get your cars build sheet. I got one for my work car (1993 Ford Escort Currently 226,000 miles) and am having Lincoln research one for my 1976 Mark IV Continental. I've actually been thinking about getting one for my Volvo just to have it.

No I’m not member.

But I’m astonished about the condition of the car. My neighbor has one 855/96 120 000 kilometer and my car is in much better condition. I couldn’t believe that a Volvo could last so many kilometer.

I just bought my 93 850 with 218,000 miles! Great condition. We got it for a song! Why? because 99.5% of Americans think that anything over 100K is no good! Yes, I have oil leak, probably rear main, and I'll need some front end work. But, in the many years of driving autos - some 45 - including hiking cars in earlier years, this car is the best engineered car I've ever been in! It's got everything one needs and wants while driving! The engineers ought to be congratulated!
