T-5 / Tires S70

Can someone please give me some advice. In May of 2001 I purchased a 1998 T-5 with 22,000 miles on it. The dealer was nice enough to put on 4 new Bridgestone Potenza's, 205-50/16 with a V speed rating. The car has 40,000 miles on it now and needs the tires replaced. If I purchase the same tire from a local store the cost would be approx. $800.00 with all misc & Taxes. I would like to know what my options are. A local wholesaler can sell me Goodyear GPS 205-55/16 with a T speed rating for under $400.00 inclusive of everything. Will going from a 50 to a 55 make any difference and the speed rating from a V to a T? Please help.

Thank you
