Wheels & break dust S40-V40 2001

I've read often about the dusty Volvo brakes. But is everyone else having a problem with the dust pitting the wheels?? The car has 12K and is otherwise great. Is this a common complaint? Any suggestions

Yes, the wheels on my and my brother's 2000 S40s are pitting from the dust. Has anyone approached their dealer/Volvo about this?

Just try to keep yhrm as clean as you can....like use P21S or I like Turtle Wax mag wheel cleaner(the one in the orange spray bottle) Then after they are cool and clean use one of the longer lasting waxes on them. by longer lasting I mean just that....a wax that is forumulated for lasting power as opposed to one that is made more for a very high quality shine....but does not last as long.
Oh and wax them often....like twice a month or so....depending on how often you clean them.
one other thing.....be sure your wheels are not hot...not even warm when you clean or wax them.
You cou;d also ask your question over at the detailing forum at
