Antenna Mast is Farting 850

Can I just use regular WD40 to grease up my mast. It farts every time it goes down.

WD40 is a nice penetrant/cleaner and a lousy lubricant for antennae. Using your dipstick would be better--get something with some staying power for a lubricant. The audible flatulent noise from your antenna is unlubed metal on metal stressing the nylon cable; soon you will have a silent fixed-position antenna. Dead 'tennas don't fart.

i used vasoline worked like a charm. kelly
