what is this sensor on the dash? S70

On my 98 S70, on the top of the dash by the windshield is a small module with a red led that flashes to indicate the alarm is active. There is another "sensor" on that small module, anyone know what it is? Could it be a receiver for the keyless entry?

Also, to the right of the defroster button, is the spot that looks like another button would fit, is something that looks like a small vent, any ideas what that is?

Thanks
Mad Finn

The sensor on the dash is a solar sensor for auto climate control. As you head into the sun, it steps up the A/C slightly to compensate for solar heat. When it,s cloudy or headed away from sun, heat steps up. The small vent next to the def button is the cabin air temo sensor. Also for climate control. There is a small sensor and behind the grill with a tiny fan to pull air across it.

Blow it out every once in a while as it gets dusty.

I got the minor fault flashing LEd's and dusting cleared it.
