how do you fix the hinge mechanism on that ashtray below the radio? i don't smoke, but it's kind of cheap looking to have it shoved in there halfway. i think i have all the pieces to the spring mechanism, but any tips on how to reassemble the mechanism would be awesome.

I had this happen to my '96 as well. I had wedged the tray shut, but my darling wife always would open it, and the tray would have to be re-wedged. I finally got fed up and took the dang thing apart and fixed it. Seems that the plastic piece that holds a spring in place broke. So, I found a spare piece of plastic, superglued it in place, whittled it a bit to accept the spring, and haven't had any trouble w/it in over a year! If you can get the ashtray out, I'm sure that you can see the problem.
