exhaust leak ? S60

Hi all;

I own a 2001 volvo s60 t5 automatic. It has 12,000 miles on it. I notice that on cold mornings once the catalitic converter heats up I have 2 visible exhaust plumes. One is as you would expect at the end of the tail pipe. The second is mouch thinner and is locate where the mufler meets the tail pipe. The car sounds fine (not loud), however I am wondering if I have an exhaust leak ? I took it to the dealer and they said it was a vapor escape port ? any ideas......

Hello,

All mufflers have a small hole used to let water drain out. If the water does not drain out then your muffler will rust out at a faster rate. So check to see if this steam is not coming from a small hole in the muffler.

If the steam is coming from the connection between the muffler and the tail pipe then I would take it back to the dealer to have the hole sealed.

Good Luck,

Steven---
