Temperature sensor 850 1996

Where exactly is the climate control temperature sensor located in a 1996 850? Thank you.

Actually, it is NOT where JimH said it is. If you have the auto climate control HVAC, there are TWO sensors, for TWO zones, the driver and passenger. The two sensors are located behind the handles for entry and exit from the vehicle, mounted on the edge of the ceiling. There is a circular opening that is bisected by a piece of molded plastic. It's circumfrence is rather small at less than 1 cm. In that opening, you will find a temp sensor for the auto climate HVAC.

Hey ulfee,

I'm not a specialist on this, but I saw on a previous post that one of them is above the glove box in the dash (you would need to remove the glove box). I'm curious though, what makes you ask? If you see my previous post, I've been having an issue with the passenger side not heating like the driver's side (96 850 Turbo Wagon, and I'm wondering if that's what's happening to you. Let me know.

-JimH
