Warning Light on, can't notice any difference 850

Hi folks,

I have a yellow 850 T5-R, a few months ago the Fault in Engine Electronic System Warning light went on, after an hour or so of driving it switched off. Recently the light has turned on again and is staying on, however I cannot notice any problems with the vehicle. Does anyone know what commonly causes the light to switch on as I would like to fix it asap. An help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

You need to find out what fault codes exist before anyone here can guess further. If it's a '96 on up 850, a scan tool is required to see the fault codes. No sense in guessing further here until that's done as there's many reasons why the check engine light comes on.

Alex,
I have a '97.
You will find that the oxygen sensor will cause the light to go on. Try changing the plugs or test the air pump, or even get it smogged and ask....... Could only help the sit.... Also... Yellow indicates mediocre issues, RED indicates REAL problems.....

Wrong! (bad advice) 850 1997

Dude, not only do most here find your chosen name in very poor taste (which our administrator should really do something about), you're also totally wrong.

There isn't one word of truth to your poor advise.
