Well I put H-rated Energy MXV4 Plus 215/55R16's on my 98 T5 to replace the OEM 205/55R16 XGT V4's (maybe they're the originals, but I bought the car at 25K miles, and the way those tires wear they may have been the 2nd set). Yes I know the rock-hard compound that gives these MXV4's ~40K treadwear makes their dry grip mediocre, yes I know the T5 should have V-rated tires, but really folks, they're quieter, smoother riding, and better in snow than the XGT's, and my wife drives it more than I do, and doesn't push the car in the corners.
Anyone else put these touring tires on a T5 and regret it? (I like high-performance driving, but I don't consider the T5 a sports car, and don't drive it like one--I only really push it in dry straight-line acceleration, 'cause it's fun to surprise a teen in a Trans Am now & then...)
