Aircondition do not get cold what to check ??? 850 1994

My air condition was working fine very strong and cold until the blower motor dead 6 month ago.. this cause the whole system to shut down

but from time to time when the motor blower do kick on the aircondition is very col..

Last week I fix the blower motor problem it was nothing but the relay next to the resistor pack was bad connection...

now the blower is working fine . heater to..

But the main problem now when I but on aircondition mode no more cold air come out just plain..

1. What should I check for ?
2. How can tell if my Freon is low or not ?
3. is there some switch that not kicking the aircondition to ON ?

4. Is there some lose connection in the engine or under dash board that I should be checking ??

Hard to think the freon is low few back it kick on and every thing was very cold working fine...

but than I can be wrong

Thanks for all your input and support.....

I would start by checking the clutch on the air conditioning compressor. With the engine running and the air condiitoning on max you should be able to see the clutch operating by the center of the pulley turning the compressor. The pulley will always turn on the outside but if the clutch is inop the rotation will not be trnsferred to the compressor. If the clutch is inop this could be caused by many different things, a bad fuse, bad electrical contact, low freon or a defective control relay. If the clutch works OK your problem is likely to be a bad high pressure cut out relay. I would think, as your AC sat idle for six months it is probably low freon, the seals loose their elasticity when sitting in one position and, of course, the 850 does have the potential for an evaporator leak especially your year. If you feel the freon is low you could always go the cheap way out - a can of 134 freon from your local auto store!
