SRS Light / Cables S70 1999

Hello;

I'm writing to find out if anyone has had problems with the wires under the driver seat of their Volvo being cut by the track? My 3 out of 4 wires have been cut and I'm trying to get Volvo to cover these wires under warranty. They are asking me to replace the entire harrness for $1050. Has anyone had the same problem? If so, did you just fix the wires, replaced them and who paid?

Thanks,
Deneen

    You shouldn't normally have SRS wiring cut by seat tracks but if that's the case, even SRS wires can be repaired according to Volvo now so you're being hosed by someone. Tell them to just repair the wiring. If it's still under warranty, its repair or replacement would be covered unless they could somehow legally prove that you personally and intentionally tryed to damage those wires, not too likely IMHO.
    Worst case: If it's out of warranty and after they try to repair the wires, there's then too much resistance in the repaired circuit (not likely), it'll set a code and your SRS system will still be inop.

      Frank;
      Thank you for your note. It will be most helpful when I go and talk to Volvo. I agree they should cover this under warranty but I think I'm being 'jerked' around.
