Strange electrical issues and more V70-XC70

Blower fan sometimes has mind of it's own?
Rear wiper turns on in the first start up of the day?
Passenger windows crack open, these are easy to correct and do not persite?
Also have the urgent air bag warning and would like to disable it!

This a 2002 V70 base wagon auto nonturbo with 219000K +
FYI I'm loving the "Econometer" as well as XeMODeX throttle body
So thanks to those who help with my problem!

Hoping to avoid a trip to the dealer

Try rebooting your computer.

Disconnect the battery for at least 5 minutes.

This solved a problem with out 2008 XC 70 that Volvo could not help me with! It was a problem with my door locks that would not respond after a low tire pressure alarm, my dealer and Volvo of North America would not believe that the trouble even happened!

Check your battery connections while you are at it, especially the ground.

Tried that for 1/2 hour and worked without any issues today!

I would like to remove the CEM but cold wiring being stiff and 20 degrees would not allow that to happen?
Only message I have is service due! No other OBD codes!

Believe this to be related to CEM?
Xemodex has a transfer service for $349 but I don't have any PO codes?
Unable to clear what I think is the oil change or service message!
Welcome any input. "Thanks"
Wagon now at 222K+

If the OBD code shows driver air bag is the problem, it could be the steering wheel air bag lost connection. This is caused by a bad "clock spring". That's the wound device that keeps a connection while turning the steering wheel. It becomes brittle and breaks. Hopefully that's not it as I wouldn't want to try a DYI fix. Those air bags can explode!

Hi David,

I did a clockspring in my 940 last year. You must disconnect the battery and wait ten minutes before working on air bags/SRS. Then it's safe.

The clockspring is fragile, but not rocket science to work with.

I'm waiting to find out what his OBD reports before worrying about replacing parts.

Brickboard has turned my keyboard into a dumb terminal it seems with long delays before the cursor moves.. Google is full of tricks.

Hi Rolyak,

That's quite a wide assortment of issues

I'd start with checking OBD codes.
You should at least have SRS codes.

Bill
