hi i drive a 99 volvo s70 110k i have a oil leak passenger side i changed the 2 seals under the timing belt cover but i still have a leak should i check crank seal and does this car have a oil cooler

Oil pump and or its the seal may be the leak.

Check the intake and exhaust camshaft seals (behind the camshaft gears).

Yes, there is an oil cooler mounted behind the engine.

those were the 2 seals i change under the timing belt if i did that what else should i check for

Various possibilities. If you're sure it's motor oil that's leaking, checking the front crankshaft seal would be next.

Other possibilities:
Leaking oil filler cap seal.
Ruptured PCV system leaking oil/blowby.
Dipstick seal.
Power steering fluid (red fluid).
Transmission/axle seals/cooling lines (red fluid).
Coolant/Water Pump/hoses (green fluid).

ok jw the pcv system was changed a year ago i also did the glove test it suck in the glove didnt inflate oil cap gasket in good shape also took tbelt cover off didnt notice anything wet but i still have a leak on passenger side front leaking on lower mount this is a update

Is the leak crankcase oil
or coolant
or hydraulic fluid?

Start there and work back.

You have the cam and crank seals to worry about if it's oil.

Clean the area to help find the leak.

Did you thoroughly clean the area as BB suggested to find the source of the leak? You have narrowed it down to engine oil so clean the areas of the crankshaft seal and camshaft seals (know you replaced those but perhaps one isn’t installed right?) to check for any sign of leakage. Doubt this is the issue, but wouldn’t hurt to check the area around the oil pump seal.

Sounds like a PITA issue but be persistent… Do the cleaning.

hello everyone oil leak fixed it was crankshaft seal under the crank also inspected oil pump seal ok now im having kickback on the brake pedal while braking it feels like i have no brakes but when i tap brakes the comeback into play should i clean abs sensors

Brakes:
1. I suggest starting a new thread with the word brake in the title.

2. I am not clear about your problem. Does the pedal sink when you first apply them? Then the pedal comes back up when you pump it. If so, BB is correct. There is air in the system. If that is the case, then bleeding and flushing might fix them.

3. You also need to determine if there is a mechanical problem causing the leak. If you pump the pedal and it comes back up after pumping that is a classic description of a bad brake master cylinder seal.

OK on finding/fixing the leaky crank seal.
You should do a "glove test" to check for clogged EGR plumbing.
If your EGR clogs up you can easily pop the rear main seal which is a Major
repair that you want to avoid.
Be sure to use only full synthetic oil that should not clog the EGR.

When you press the brake you should have a hard brake peddle
and if pumping it restores braking you need to bleed the brakes.

When was the last time you flushed the brakes with new DOT4?
Brake fluid goes bad with age and/or severe use.
A symptom of bad brake fluid is Brake fade at high speed.

One thing to watch out for when bleeding brakes, don't pump up the brakes
to bleed with the brake peddle, use a pressure bleeder. If you pump manually, the master cylinder piston goes deep into the bore where it may be corroded and can destroy the M/C seals. You can usually find the pressure bleeder kits at auto parts stores for a free rental.

This guy might be a troll. He posted this question before. BB and I suggested he test his PCV system for clogs. He never reported back to us. As we know, a clogged PCV system will cause the seals to continue to leak. This needs to be addressed first. Putting any new seals in is a waste of money and time without first testing the PCV system for clogs…
