Electronic throttle pedal failure? V70-XC70 2002

My V70 non-turbo auto wagon has new problem after replacing axle shafts and other front suspension parts! In the past it would high idle 4K when cold, cured by gear shifting into gear or key off.
Yesterday taking short drive I had no throttle response and limped it back home, briefly returned to normal!
Today while planning a MPG check, that was aborted and using the "key off" method made it home!
Possibly wheel sensors as it has anti-skid, ABS warnings.
Tom

Hi Tom,

Why don't you check for OBD codes and go from there?
If you don't have a reader, many local parts retailers will read it for you.

Post back, Bill

Thanks Bill I do have a couple of code readers.
STFT varied from 00-.3.1 %
LTFT varied from 1.5-7.0 %
IAT-75F
MAP-also varied 27-37 KPA
MAF-from 3.08-3.99
O2-480-520
FYI I did clean both wheel sensors and took a road test, ran like it did before the front end repairs! "No Dead Pedal", now wondering if painted knuckle had insulating effect?
MAP looks original and VAC was deteriorated and replaced.
O2 sensor is Bosch
Have cleaned both MAF and MAT
PO had repairs on eXmodex years ago, I cleaned it along with new gasket.
Also passed smoke test.

Hi Tom,

Glad it's behaving.
Maybe the ECU needed a reset by disconnecting the battery?
This is an undocumented feature of LH2.4 in my 1993 945T.

Did you unplug the ABS sensors again?
Geriatric connectors need close attention!
Especially key engine sensor connectors.
Maybe you had a flaky connection at the ABS connectors?
Clean connectors with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol 90% and use Penetrox-A. Never use solvent on connectors, it can kill bullet connectors.
See this writeup by Brickboarder Ron Kwas:

Good luck, Bill
