How do you evaluate the condition of used wheels?

I have the opportunity to buy some refinished Volvo wheels- R style. I did not get to see the wheels prior to the refinishing, but the final product looks nice. I fear that there could be hidden cracks, etc. that will cause an unsafe situation. How do you evaluate the condition of wheels that have already been blasted and powdercoated?

What year and model are the wheels?

For example, some of the R wheels are anodized, an electrical process that gives aluminum a hard finish.

These cannot be stripped - I have one that someone tried ti strip and it looks like a gray alligator.

Microscopic cracks cannot be seen even on the inside of the wheels and most folks do not have access to a wheel balancing machine. You have to 'trust' the seller?
