Silverlake California...mechanic and detailing??? Need help

Two things: My son lives in Silverlake. I would like him to use an independent mechanic rather than shelling out cash to the dealer. Volvo and BMW. I would also like to give him a gift of a full car detailing...know any a local detailers ?
