Traction control light - 000E code V70-XC70

Just bought a 2007 XC70; traction control trouble light is on.

Hooked up my scan tool; got a 000E trouble code: "steering wheel angle sensor internal fault"

Research indicates that this means my clockspring/angle sensor unit needs replacing.

Does anyone have experience with this one?

Used units are available on eBay, but some on other boards state that you must go with a new one - price difference is about $400 - trying to do it myself for less $

Guidance appreciated!

The problem with a clock spring is they get brittle and break, so no contact with airbag/horn, etc. A used one has the same problem. It could break even while installing it in your car. Given the work to remove the airbag and steering wheel your money ahead with a new one. But if you like working on the car constantly go for used.
