I've tried two code readers now, my old ScanGaugeII and an el-Cheapo one off Amazon, they both just sit "connecting" when plugged into this 2018 XC60. This with the ignition set to position 1 or with the engine running.

Is there a trick to this?

    Tonight Advance Auto’s code reader wouldn’t connect either.

    Went to Autozone and same thing when following their directions to only turn the ignition on. Started the car while connected and it connected and read codes.
