2004 V70 AWD preventive electronics repair V70-XC70 2004

I have 300K on this car and thus far unable to locate a suitable replacement. I believe it to be mechanically sound, but the electronics are nearly 20 years old. I have only replaced the shift position sensor and Haldex circuit board. Are there any commonly failed components that could disable the car, that should be replaced before they fail? Thanks.
Marlin

300K miles on a XC70 is commendable!

By now, you've probably had cylinder misfires and replaced ignition coils, associated ignition wiring damaged by heat, and re-pinned and/or replaced coil receptacle plugs.

Other electronic or related items I've replaced on our 294K 2000 V70 SE:
- Voltage regulator (still have original alternator)
- AC compressor clutch (still have original compressor)
- Steering wheel ignition lock assembly (new lock assembly from Volvo using original keys)
- ABS rear wheel sensors
- ABS control unit
- Turn Signal / Cruise Control switch stalk

I've wondered about the life of original starter, still going strong. I've looked at starter replacements but they're all rebuilt units, including from Volvo. But this has to be a preventative maintenance consideration, just don't know exactly when. Likewise, the in-tank fuel pump life is to be considered.

Have also repaired/spliced all tailgate wiring. Rear wiper motor and rear window defroster are OK.

Engine Control Module? I occasionally remove it and use spray contact cleaner on the pins, then reseat. No problems so far.

BTW, I know the AW-55 SN 5-speed transmission has electrically-operated solenoid valves. Changing ATF at regular 50K intervals keeps those solenoid valves operating OK.

Each car will be different, but above is what I've experienced.

You're right, I've done the coils but not the plugs. I keep shimming the compressor clutch and have bought the tool to remove the clutch. Have also done the turn signal stalk and fuel pump. I have the tool to release the ECM and have done it once and change the transmission fluid (still shifts smoothly). I need to get to work on the frame bushings under the engine & compressor clutch. Thanks.
