BOY was I dumb - sadly I might not have been the only one - re. TP sensor problem locked me out of my car V70-XC70 2008

I posted the problem with my tire sensors at least four times.

I had a couple of leaky wheels (since corrected)

If I left the low pressure alarm on over night, I could not unlock the car the next morning.

My dealer had no clue, in fact they did not believe what happened, even though It happened three times. This board had no suggestions, nothing

Volvo of North America was no help.

At thanksgiving dinner, as conversation, I told my tale. By that time I could not reset the alarm even though my tire shop checked the tire sensors.

I found that if I unlocked the car with the emergency key, the remote key would perform properly all day, but the next morning I was locked out again.

My son-in-law is an award winning tech and his father is a so-so tech.

Donald, the so-so Subaru tech, said casually - did you disconnect the battery?

THAT WORKED!

So was I really dumb, or was I not the only one?

I have the same problem. I just don't lock the car. My emergency key doesn't work. I bought the car used and it never worked. Once I had AAA open the car with a Slim Jim. as soon as it opened everything worked far a while.

Did you try disconnecting the battery? Five minutes or so.

Have you had the tire sensors checked at a tire shop?

My tire shop uses some sensors with nice rubber stems with brass threads just like the ones we always saw on our cars - regular stem caps.

A story - one of my wife's friends has a new Jeep - they could not find the alarm source - they found that her spare tire had a sensor!
