ADDING A TURBO BOOST GAUGE TO '97 GLT 850 1997

greetings

'97 GLT (no dash boost gauge) feels down on power (+ lousy gas mileage).
I suspect that the turbo "boost" gauge on a non-GLT is just a vacuum gauge.

If so, where can I add my vacuum test gauge to verify if I am getting normal boost. will any vac. line poet work ??
this would be just a temp. set-up for testing purposes. maybe later add one permanently.

Thanks
Peter

How many miles on your car?
I had 210K or so with ratty around town mileage 14-15MPG in my 1995 850NA
New front FAG hubs jumped the mileage up to 23-24 mpg around town.

I tried Chinese hubs at first, a disaster, they were worse than the old OEM hubs.

Get the FAG or SKF hubs before they are out of production.
(if they aren't already)

Bill

same amount of miles on my GLT.
13-14 MPG around town mileage.

are you referring to the front wheel bearing hubs ??
can they be dragging that much ?

I replaced one once on my old 850NA and didn't notice a difference in mileage.
I've only replaced them when they made noise .....

interesting

Now I have a 1993 940T that runs great but, poor 13-15 mileage around
town.
I have new SKF hubs and brake parts lined up to replace and see if that does the
trick again.
I'w waiting to recover from a shoulder replacement to do this work.

Oh, the boost gauge hooks to a intake manifold vacuum fitting direct,
it's a vacuum guage.
