Rear left door locked S40-V40 2004

I have a rear left door locked and unable to open door using Fob, manually on driver’s side button. All doors lock and unlock and open pulling handle inside and outside , except this one. I hear it lock and unlock , but unable to open from outside or inside. I need to remove the indoor door panel to try to find out what’s wrong, but I don’t see how it’s possible with door closed. This is a 2004 S40, 1.9 T, the older model.
Does anybody have an idea of how to remove door panel? Tks for your help.

Not without breaking a bunch of plastic clips. Does the door lock button go down/up completely when locking/unlocking the door? Try pulling up on the button?

There is a video, of course the door is open:

Keeping it running is better than buying new

Take the panel off the other side, you might see how you can take the offending side apart.

I had a similar issue with a 740 - With the knowledge gained, I got the panel off.

Worst case, you might have to force some of the panel off, with damage. Perhaps even a long pry bar! Or cutting across the panel as low as needed To gain access to open the door.

Then you could repair the damaged panel (even a Mickey Mouse job ) or get another panel from one of the used parts sellers.

Your baby IS 17 years old.

Think outside the box.
