plastic moulding 853-3650-06/30664458 V70-XC70 2006

Can anyone tell me where this bit of moulding belongs? It came with the car but I have not been able to find a place for it so far. On the'front' surface it has an arrow with the word FORWARD beneath it.

My usual problem uploading pictures. Please forgive.

Hi,

I was just reading what the others had said!
I don't own one of these cars. I'm a 240 man.

The word forward and the arrow made sense as to what they had said.

Yep,you have a nice fancy car and some sales person thought it looked ugly or unfinished under there!
That what's you pay for, on more luxurious cars and that's for them to hide screws heads and alike from the mechanics!
I guess we can add unsuspecting owners too!
(:-)

Evening Phil,

I bought this car for a thousand dollars as a winter vehicle. I knew about some of its shortcomings but the seller kept a bit back it would seem. No complaints. I hope to get it fully up to scratch before spring arrives and I go back into my summer car.

As to the moulding it is no big deal. It is cracked so I used a few plastic rivets to strengthen it. I will try to put it on tomorrow. Just happy that you and the others who responded to my question were able to answer it and send me in the right direction.

Bob

Hi,

A roof rack sounds appropriate plus it's an accessory item

Boy isn't that stupendous of Volvo!
The word is a little longer than my first thoughts of a vendor engineering department.
Shame that Volvo doesn't screen for quirks like that, but thenew, define quirkiness nowadays?

Probably means it's only for the left side by pointing it forward only!
Maybe, it's the only one left?

Morning Phil,

Holy Toledo, never even looked at the roof rack! Will go out and take a look. Ah yes, it is the bottom moulding on the passenger side rear. It is missing in the picture and I have shown it with the larger yellow arrow. The smaller arrow points to an installed moulding.

Thank you! And thank you to all the others who found this thing for me. I will now put in some plastic rivets to close the crack in the moulding and set about installing it.

I don't know for sure but I'll go out on a limb and say it's part of a roof rack.

You are right on, Will. It is the underside moulding on the rear passenger's side bracket, identified by the larger arrow in the picture.

Ditto. I did some searching for that part number and all I found was some vague discussion about roof racks. But nothing concrete. Volvo OEM sites turned up nothing for that number.

Perfect searching, Chris. It is the underside moulding on the rear passenger's side roof rack bracket. You can see it is missing in the picture.

It is cracked so I will do some plastic riveting and re-install it.

Thanks for your input.

Bob
